Remote Pool Cover Opener

The Pool Cover Opener (PCO) is a simple device that enables you to remotely open the cover of your swimming pool using your cell phone or PC. You can optionally connect the device to Google Home to activate it from any Google Home device (Pending Google Inc.'s Approval.)

The device works with rolling type electric covers that are usually opened by turning a key and keeping your hand on the key for around 2 minutes until the cover is fully opened. Here is a typical type of cover with which the device can be used:

Although the device can also be used to close the pool cover, we strongly caution against this in order to avoid closing the pool by mistake while someone is swimming in it.

Other uses for the PCO:

  • Automate other home devices such as electric locks, water valves or electric lights
  • Reprogram the device for your own purposes or to learn how to build and program Arduino devices

Input: 0 to 36V AC/DC
Output: 5A at 30VDC or 10A at 250VAC

The easiest way to configure and operate the device is using the Upwind IoT application that is available on Google's Play Store and Apple's App Store.
